SALVO Global launches master class on “Mine Water Treatment and Management”

This two day master class scheduled on 27th and 28th January 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa brings together mine operators, environmental managers, regulators and consultants from leading mining companies to achieve sound water management and best environmental practices.
The internationally renowned course leader has more than 30 years of experience and shall offer a unique opportunity to explore recent innovations and developments related to availability and efficient use of water in the mining industry. The course will take an applied approach, using real world examples to illustrate fundamental concepts of managing wastewater operations, treatment of hydrocarbon-polluted water, planning for mine site closure and rehabilitation etc.

This intensive two day master class will focus on assessing the importance of diffuse mine water pollution, understanding how to manage wastewater streams in both periods of water shortage and excess . Participants will also gain extensive knowledge on identifying & addressing serious issues on Acid Metalliferous Drainage (AMD) and discover successful remediation strategies for sustainable water and waste water management. Participants get to familiarize with those techniques and processes that can be effectively utilized for the treatment of mine wastes and also learn best approaches to successful mine site closure and rehabilitation.
